“He that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.” In him, the blood and water were eternal. Ĭonclusion: This is why John recorded that “blood and water,” came from Jesus’s side when he was pierced. And the blood that was in Jesus was God’s eternal blood. In you it becomes “a well of water springing up into everlasting life,”. The water that was in Jesus was “living water,”.

That’s why it was blasphemy against the Holy Ghost to say that Jesus had an unclean spirit. Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit incarnate. The spirit that is in Jesus is the Holy Spirit. These three are all eternal and they are all essential to eternal life and they are all in Jesus. Do you know how the spirit, and the water, and the blood “agree in one” to bear witness to the eternal life that is in Jesus? In them is also eternal life. They bear witness to the same record to which the Trinity bears record in heaven. Notice, verse 8 says, “there are three that bear witness in earth.” To what do they bear witness? In the context, they bear witness to “the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son,”. Of course, all these are spiritual.īut there’s something else very special about the spirit, the water and the blood. When we are saved, we drink into one Spirit. There is something about the way the three of these “agree in one.” When you look through the Bible and you see what’s similar about the spirit, the water, and the blood, you find some interesting things. They were in agreement that we have seen something in these verses that makes more sense than anything we have found heretofore. Before the current “stay at home” order, Tony and I, and then Randy and I, were able to discuss, briefly, what I’m going to show you tonight. We have looked at these for years and have wondered to what, exactly, they pertain. Rather we are going to discuss verses 6 and 8. It’s what Eph 4:14 calls, “the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”īut our lesson tonight is not on verse 7. When I show this to people, the first couple of times they compare their modern Bible with the King James Bible, they can’t even see that their Bible doesn’t contain the verse. In this fashion, it doesn’t look like a verse has been removed from your Bible. I say cleverly, because in modern Bibles, either part of verse 6 has been moved down to replace verse 7, or part of verse 8 has been moved up to replace verse 7. And it has been cleverly removed from most modern Bibles. Of course, they would have no way of knowing that.ġ Jn 5:7 is the single greatest verse in the Bible on the Trinity. They say that this verse is a late addition to scripture, that it isn’t in the “oldest and best manuscripts,” and that it wasn’t, therefore, in the originals.

For the most part, Bible scholars and many preachers don’t believe that 1 Jn 5:7 should even be in your Bible. These passages show plainly that there is a Divine Trinity consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.1 Jn 5:6-8 is quite a passage of scripture in your Bible. Moreover, the Apostles frequently named in their Epistles the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

In addition there is the fact that the Lord prayed to His Father, and spoke about Him and with Him, saying that He would send the Holy Spirit, and this too He did. Three there are that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit. Go and make all nations disciples, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19. It is even clearer in the words which the Lord used to the disciples: When Jesus was baptised, behold, the heavens were opened, and John saw the Spirit of God 1Ĭoming down like a dove, and alighting upon Him and a voice from heaven saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, Matthew 3:16-17 Mark 1:10-11 John 1:32. Here all three are named: the Most High, who is God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son of God. The angel Gabriel said to Mary, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, so that the holy thing that is born of you will be called the Son of God, Luke 1:35. The existence of a Divine Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is plainly demonstrated by the Word, especially the following passages: (i) THERE IS A DIVINE TRINITY CONSISTING OF FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.
